My Background & Credentials ~ An Overview:

Please allow me to offer this brief overview of my background and abilities. My name is Scotty, I am 70 years old, and in addition to being a writer and programmer, I have held several professional licenses. I earned my Texas Real Estate Brokers license in 1981 and have 20 years active experience as a Real Estate Broker. In addition, I currently hold an LVN license (Licensed Vocational Nurse). As an LVN, I have four years experience as a nursing home Charge Nurse & five years experience as a Psychiatric Nurse at a facility for troubled adolescents. I also have teaching experience with a San Antonio junior college, and I have written one published book (The Guidebook Of Solutions). My academic background includes : 5 years at the University of Texas and 2 years at Texas State University where I received my Bachelors degree in Applied Arts and Science. I strive always to be professional, friendly, empathetic, diligent, and honorable.

Yes, this is a sample piece of text to test this particular display dynamic -- -- -- there are already a number of online 12 Step groups; but, most are specifically geared toward a particular addictive problem like alcoholism, drug abuse, tobacco, over-eaters, etc. I am proposing an online 12 step support group for everyone. A 12 step support group aimed at spiritual awakening; A 12 Step support group whose function and goal is elevating the human condition toward greater levels of love, accountability, and kindness; – an online gathering place where two or more can gather in support of one another so that all might be empowered to overcome the debilitating effects of egotism.

In addition the online 12 step support group I propose will be powered by a more functional social networking dynamic than is commonly seen on the Internet these days. That is to say: Most online discussion groups are powered by one of two dynamics. The typical chat room dynamic such as Paltalk, IRC, and CraigsList is the first; And the traditional blog-thread forums like LinkedIn and those powered by WordPress are the second. Both are limited in their ability to facilitate the kind of support group dynamic I am proposing. To be sure, the traditional chat room dynamic has its place; it can be both fun and interesting. But, because of the fast paced sequential accumulation of posts - chat rooms do not encourage high caliber dialog. Comments are usually short & quick; they usually lack insight and inspiration; and the truly good postings quickly scroll out of sight as new posts flood in.
